On 23rd November, Tollan Worlds, a sandbox MMORPG launched an integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Polygon Mainnet as a part of an in-game event, “The Marks of Fate.” In this event, players explore the Tollan Worlds’ universe and battle monsters. In addition, players have many opportunities to take advantage of this event.
By participating in the event, players have a chance to obtain one of four different Marks of Fate: Sevend (Light), Keth (Darkness), Tah (Movement), and Elve (Rest). You can read more about The Marks of Fate event in this medium post.
As part of Polygon Mainnet, Chainlink Verifiable Random Function determines which Marks will be awarded to each player. The Mark is determined randomly using a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user can independently audit. On the other hand, RNG solutions for smart contracts necessitate several security considerations to avoid deception and ensure system integrity. RNG solutions derived from blockchain data, such as block hashes, can be misused by miners/validators, whereas off-chain RNG solutions derived from off-chain APIs are opaque and do not provide users with definitive proof of the process’s integrity.

As a result, the team believes the user experience will be more thrilling and credible because users can trust that the burning mechanism’s results are true.
